Water service disruption- 9pm April 30th (select locations)

Recently the City of Richwood has sustained damage to water distribution lines at the intersection of Brazosport Blvd. and Cottonwood Dr. This damage is going to require that water distribution lines be removed and replaced to ensure future water distribution integrity for both Brazosport Blvd and Cottonwood Dr. Beginning at 9:00 PM on April 30th, Richwood Public Works will begin closing necessary distribution valves to discontinue water service to this area.

To isolate these distribution lines from water service, Public Works will be required to close distribution valves at Sycamore, Cypress Dr. and College Drive. This will result in the loss of water services for all residents and businesses located on Brazosport Blvd between Sycamore and College Dr. as well as all residents on Hickory, Hickory Ct., and Cottonwood Dr. Closing of these valves is also likely to have a negative impact on operating water pressure for areas of Richwood south of College Dr.

The anticipated time of completion for the removal and replacement of necessary water lines is five hours, or from 9:00 PM on April 30th through 2:00 AM on May 1st. If residents or business owners have any questions regarding the replacement of water distribution lines at the intersection of Brazosport Blvd. and Cottonwood Dr., please contact Richwood’s Public Works Director Clif Custer at (979)265-2082, option 5.
