Storm Debris Removal Update 7/16/24

The City of Richwood will begin the first round of storm debris removal on Wednesday, July 17th. This will be the first of three anticipated rounds of debris removal. Please take note of these key factors to clarify and efficiently remove debris.

1.    Debris removal contractors will not reach over vehicles to retrieve debris. Please get all vehicles off the roads onto private property.

2.    If there is property damage due to debris pickup (mailbox damage, damage to sidewalks/driveways, etc.), residents are to notify Richwood Public Works as soon as possible via email (please provide photos, if possible, ccuster@richwoodtx.gov).

3.    Debris piles must be separated into two separate piles of debris at minimum (Vegetative/Construction and Demolition). Vegetative debris constitutes trees, limbs, and leaves. Construction and Demolition, or C&D, constitutes everything else, not just trees, limbs, and leaves.

4.    The debris removal contractor will attempt to retrieve as much debris as possible, but residents are to expect small amounts of sticks and leaves to remain after removal. Any small amounts of debris that remain on properties after removal should be collected and placed into Waste Connections trash caddies for regular trash pickup.

5.    Richwood’s debris removal contractor will not remove debris from any properties that border and are front-facing to TxDOT right-of-ways or Farm-to-Market Roads. TxDOT will provide debris removal services for these locations.

Richwood Requests that residents be aware of social media posts or other public notice platforms for information on future rounds of debris removal.
