Richwood Public Works on Thursday April 25th beginning at 8:00 PM will be performing maintenance flushing of water distribution lines throughout the water system. Flushing activities can cause the manifestation of discolored water from resident’s water fixtures in their home or businesses due to naturally occurring minerals and metals within the groundwater. If water discoloration is experienced, locate the outside spigot closest to the location where water service enters the structure and flush water at this point for ten minutes. Discoloration of water due to maintenance flushing generally lasts no longer than 24 – 48 hours.
