Recently, the City of Richwood has been experiencing exorbitant amounts of debris during regular rounds of heavy trash pickup. Residual debris produced by Hurricane Beryl has perpetuated this situation. This issue has caused delays in heavy trash service. Waste Connections will continue to honor its agreement with the City of Richwood to collect a maximum of 5 cubic yards monthly of heavy/bulk debris from residential addresses within the city. Heavy trash pickup excludes construction debris such as fencing, interior construction debris such as sheetrock, flooring, countertops, paneling, etc., as well as concrete, batteries, chemicals, non-dried paint, etc.

If excessive amounts of heavy trash persist, Richwood residents should expect delays in heavy trash services over the next couple of months at a minimum. Residents with staged vegetative debris exceeding five cubic yards or construction debris are encouraged to contact Waste Connections at (979) 864-4600 for a quote and individual service to remove excessive vegetative and construction debris. Along with this public notice, Richwood Code Enforcement Officer Marcus Smith will be providing door hangers at addresses with applicable debris piles. This public notice or any door hanger residents receive should be perceived as Richwood’s efforts to communicate with and assist residents in resolving heavy trash issues, not as an enforcement action.
