The Citizens Police Academy is an 11 week police department interactive program, designed to educate the public about the department and the criminal justice system.  The program will take the student through courses in Criminal Law, Civil Law, Traffic Stops, Evidence, Use of Force, Investigations, Patrol, K9, and various other areas of police work.  The program allows members of the Richwood Police Department and citizens of the community to meet, share ideas and information, and interact in a very positive and proactive setting.  It is further hoped that the courses of instruction will increase public perception of the duties the men and women of the police department perform and help to bridge the gap of misconceptions and increase community partnerships through this educative process.

To apply for the next Citizens Academy Class, you can print out an application and bring it by the Police Department or you can pick an application up from City Hall.

We look forward to seeing you at the next Citizen’s Police Academy Class!
